Kim Taylor

Board of Directors

Kim graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1996, where she received honors and awards for her accomplishments as a student leader.  From there, she began her career in Austin, Texas with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). She moved from systems consulting into college recruiting where she managed entry-level recruiting efforts for the Austin, Dallas and Houston offices. She served as a resource for and delivered training about behavioral interviewing, diversity matters, and employment law issues in offices throughout the country.  Kim then took the skills that she developed at Accenture to a small start-up where her job was to deliver strategic and system improvements and consulting services to hedge funds, investment banks and other industries to assist them with hiring technology talent into industries located outside of Silicon Valley at a time when all roads led to California.

Kim’s involvement with the legal issues related to employment matters, perpetuated her interest in studying law. So, in 2001, Kim moved to Vail while submitting her applications to law school, and she got a job as a ski instructor that winter. She loved skiing, the valley and the man who would become her husband, so she stayed in the valley teaching skiing for an additional year. She entered law school at The University of Houston in the fall of 2003, but she continued to work teaching skiing in the winters, and in the summers she worked legal jobs in Denver at the Securities and Exchange Commission and the law firm of Holme Roberts and Owen. In 2006, within the span of a few months, Kim passed the Colorado Bar Exam, got married at Piney Lake and began work at Holme Roberts and Owen where she practiced law in the areas of real estate and business transactions.

Though Kim worked in Denver during the week, the Eagle River Valley had become her home.  She spent several years working at the office in Denver and returning to her home in the valley each weekend.  Eventually, she went from a large firm to a small one once again when she decided to blend her business experience and legal experience together to start her own solo practice.  Since 2009 Kim has run her own law firm where she advises small business clients in transactional business matters working to balance legal rights with practical, business-minded solutions.

Kim lives in Eagle with her husband (who she met while teaching skiing many years ago), her son and two cats.  She has devoted many hours of pro bono time to her church and local education-oriented non-profits. She still teaches skiing and she coaches her son’s Buddy Werner ski team.  She also enjoys Nordic skiing, hiking, camping, and mountain bike riding.
