She studied and received her B.S. in Natural Resources Science & Management with an emphasis in Terrestrial Ecosystems at the University of Missouri-Columbia, which blossomed her love for Mother Nature.Throughout her years in college she worked in research on agriculture farms, in greenhouses, and in National Forests. Her research varied from sustainability, wildlife conservation, forestry, to fire science. Conficious says "do what you love and you won't work another day in your life."

In her free time, you can find Najwa ripping on the trails on her mountain bike or shredding down the mountain in the winter. In the last two years of living in Eagle, Najwa worked as a Certified Arborist, lover and caretaker of trees. Additionally, Najwa also loves backpacking, birding, geology, holistic-living and is an avid environmentalist.

Growing up, Najwa had the opportunities to travel abroad to developing countries such as Jordan and South Africa, which resulted in becoming highly cultured and consciously grateful at a young age.

As a young woman of color, Najwa is deeply committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of education. Through her passion for education and her dedication to promoting compassion, creativity, and adventure, she aims to help students develop a deep understanding of their own identity and the diverse perspective of others. By fostering a sense of belonging, she seeks to create a learning community where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.

The outdoors remains Najwa’s biggest passion, and she is so eager to mesh that with her love for engagement-based learning. She is always thinking "How can we do better for our environment?" or "What is a non-toxic/ eco-friendly alternative to this..?" It is important to her that children understand the environmental benefits we receive from Mother Nature. The reason is- we only have 1 Earth, and it will be left in the hands of future generations, these Zealous students.
